Securitron XMS Exit Motion Sensor Also known as: SN-XMS, HES-XMS
The Securitron XMS is a passive infrared, request-to-exit motion sensor designed specifically to initiate door release. The device operates on 12 or 24 volt DC and features an adjustable detector face that lets users change the detection pattern of the sensor. Relay output shunts the alarm system while a field effect transistor controls the electromagnetic lock. UL/cULALVY.BP7041 CSFM 3774-0923:0103 ANSI/UL 294 Listed The XMS (Exit Motion Sensor) is an exit motion sensor, which makes easy exit requests with its hands-free functions. At an operating temperature of 32 to 110F (0 to 43C), this device is intended for indoor use and must be positioned with respect to the inside of the door so that the detection will sense a person approaching. When approached, the motion sensor will reliably release the magnetic lock on the door while maintaining good security from the outside. Designed specifically to release that lock from the inside for free egress, the XMS is fail safe, so if power is cut to the detector, the magnetic lock will safely release. Note: Since egress from a magnetically locked door can be a safety issue, make sure that the local building codes are being followed. For installation instructions, click here With an input voltage of 12 or 24VDC and a power draw of 20-50mA, a relay is present to send a REX (request to exit) signal to an access control system and shunt an alarm report. If the power to the XMS was somehow interrupted, the field effect transistor would open automatically, which makes the XMS “fail safe." Control of the exit detection pattern, which is easily adjustable will allow for maximum security from the outside and avoidance of activation from the inside when not desired. Weighing at 0.5lbs, this lightweight device can be installed easily.
