What's the purpose of a glass break simulator?Last Updated: 11/18/2013 |
By Petra Paulson
Glass break simulators are employed to test the effectiveness of a glass break detector. Glassbreak detectors use audio microphone to detector the sound frequency of broken glass. When an intruder breaks glass in an effort to gain access to a home, the glassbreak detector would trigger an alarm. Simulators, like the FG-701 Micro-Flex Tester, can synthesize the sound of glassbreaking in an effort to test the accuracy and range of a glass break detector. It is recommended that users run a glass break simulator test after installing a glass break detector to make sure the detector is working properly.
