What are alpha numeric keypads?

Honeywell recommends these keypads for their control panels because they give the user full system control, plus custom zone descriptions appear on the keypad display.

Fixed English Keypads, like the 6150, are more limited when it comes to system programming. These keypads make it more difficult to navigate programming sub-menus because they don't display custom zone descriptions, and they contain less pre-programmed words. Accidental programming changes occur more frequently with fixed English keypads.
