This keypad is available as a system with the DKC digital controller or sold separately.

The DKC-38 is similar to the DKC-37. Like its counterpart, it will come pre-programmed and synced to the DKC digital controller. It will also allow you to have complete control of up to two electrically locked doors (only one keypad included). What makes it different from the DKC-37 is that this keypad will operate at a temperature of +32 to +110F [0 to +43C], making it ideal for indoor applications. Note that the DK-38 keypads are shipped in ‘wiegand mode’ from their factory. When programming the DKC, please change the keypad to ‘character mode’ and ensure that ‘character’ is selected in the programming tool.

The size is 2-3/4"W x 4-1/2"H x 1-1/8"D and the enclosure is 6"W x 8"H x 3"D. There are only three different models for the DKC-38. The DKC-38C comes with a keypad and controller and is in character mode. The DK-38C will come with just the keypad. The third and last model is the DK-38W weigand mode. All three will last a while as its endurance is 1,000,000 cycles and comes in a satin stainless steel finish.

The DKC-38 will come with a 16 foot (4.88m) cable and both a flush and surface mount wall box. It will also contain installation and operating instructions and the keypad itself, with mounting hardware.

It has a Dual-voltage of 12 VDC or 12 VDC with a single gang mounting and compatible with access control systems using both the wiegand and character output. Its electrical specifications are minimum 1A supply for the base unit, add supply current for any devices connected to the DC outputs for CPU and 12 VDC: 7 mA at rest; 35 mA active or 24 VDC: 16 mA at rest; 75 mA active for the keypad. It also comes with an audible keystroke that echoes. A LED indicator lights above the keypad with the colors green, yellow, and red. They provide feedback during operation. Lastly, the DK-38 comes with the MagnaCare lifetime replacement, no-fault warranty.
