A non-handed, thin backset electric deadlatch made for access control systems, the Steel Hawk 4300 Electrified Deadlatch is non-handed.
Function: Working within typical narrow stile aluminum entrance door preparations, the 4300 Electrified Deadlatch easily integrates electrified locking hardware with access control. A handle or paddle device is always available for interior operation. Access control devices, such as a keypad or card reader, or a keyed mortise cylinder are both options for entry. Secure lock that can fail with an optional form "C" latch status monitor. With a continuous duty rating, the standard fail safe 4300 Electrified Deadlatch runs on 12, 16, or 24 VDC electricity. The units have a quick connect plug-in style connector. Compatible with MS Deadlocks or Adams Rite 4500 and 4900 Deadlatches without the need to modify the stile. Required door thickness is 1-3/4" [44.5 mm].
The spring-loaded latchbolt is released by turning the key, applying voltage, or operating the handle or paddle. timed applications are electrically rated for continuous duty. connects with other access control system components without difficulty. available only in fail-safe configuration. Any normal 1" [25.4 mm] length, 1-5/32" [29.4 mm] diameter mortise cylinder with MS cam, like the 4036 Mortise Cylinder, or thumbturn, like the 4066 Thumbturn, which are both available separately, are compatible with the lock. Cylinder can be inserted into the lock from one side or both.
Cylinder Backset: 31/32" (24.6 mm), 1-1/8" (28.0 mm), and 1-1/2" (38.1 mm) are features.
Case: Corrosion-resistant plating on steel. 15/16" x 5-13/16" x depth (23.8 mm x 147.6 mm x depth) in size. By backset, depth varies.
Steel is used for the latchbolt. Specifies a throw of 5/8" x 1" x 5/8" (15.9 mm x 25.4 mm x 15.9 mm).
Metal-only auxiliary bolt. To stop "loiding" or case-knife entry, the latchbolt is deadlocked.
1" x 6-7/8" [25.4 mm x 174.6 mm] is the size of the faceplate. Faceplates in both flat and radius shapes are available. For doors with a right- or left-beveled edge, flat faceplates can also be altered on-site.
Strike: Choose from the available strikes. For simple retrofits, use the 4304 surface mounted strike. For new applications or to cover an existing MS deadlock preparation, specify the 4901-01 mortised-flush version. The 4901-02 strike comes with enlarged lips for center-hung or thick door applications as well as radius profiles for pairs of doors.
Standard packaging includes mounting screws, a strike plate, flat and radius faceplates, and an individual box. Work with specific handles or paddle operators when equipped with the 4581 Universal Cam Plug. Handle, paddle, and cylinder are all sold individually.
