Overview

HES 5000 Series Electric Strike is a low-profile, Grade 1 high-security commercial door strike for cylindrical locksets with latchbolts with a throw up to 5/8". It is designed specifically to fit in tight-fitting frames where there is limited space behind the jamb. It is an excellent option to gain reliable access control without the need for extensive modifications. Its unique keeper-pin locking mechanism provides exceptional holding strength—exceeding the strength of the surrounding door, frame, and locking hardware. This strike is field-selectable for fail-safe or fail-secure operation and installs easily thanks to a slim 1–1/16” depth, non-handed design, and plug-in connectors.

The HES 5000 is built to last, being tested for 1,000,000+ cycles, with a 1,500 lbs static holding force, while resisting 70 ft-lbs in impact. The tamper-resistant housing and Grade 1 classification allows for the tough demands in security for durable, high-traffic commercial applications. With an internally mounted solenoid and fixed (trim enhancer, or cover plate), the design resists pry attacks and protects components within the product's housing. Equipped with dual-voltage, 12/24V input and low-current draw means that this strike is PoE friendly for a viable pathway to be included in modern access control installation.

The 5000 Series offers outstanding versatility to fit your specific door configuration. It works with all major brands of cylindrical door locks and can be configured with a range of faceplate kits (sold separately) to adapt to various frame types (including metal, wood, or aluminum frames and ANSI 4-7/8” preps). For one-box convenience, a Complete Pac model is available (5000C) that includes the two most common faceplates for metal and aluminum frames, simplifying ordering and installation for retrofit projects. Optional monitoring is also supported—add the Latchbolt Monitor (LBM) to get a remote signal when the door is latched or unlatched, enhancing security oversight for restricted areas.
